Recession will not curb online spend

Recession will not curb online spend in 2009

To back up my previous blog about the internet getting out of the recession this report came out today..heartening news indeed.

Despite the doom and gloom of the credit crunch, forecasts suggest that online ad spend will increase by 10% in 2009. Although growth will be slower than in previous years, organisations will use the net as an integral part of their marketing activities. The report by Forrester Research predicts that search marketing will be the most successful discipline this year, with the UK, France and Germany continuing to dominate online advertising, with 66% of spend occurring in those markets.

The Middle East is expected to fair even better, with expected online ad growth of 25-35%, as marketers move from print to online advertising to cope with the reduction in budgets. The region will be featured in WebCertain's Emerging Markets Webinar Series later in the year.
